Chevrolet Silverado is Perched behind Tiger’s Center-Field at Comerica Park

Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers baseball team, has some new decorations courtesy of General Motors. A blue Chevrolet Silverado and a red Chevrolet Equinox were hoisted several feet in the air, on top of the Chevrolet Fountain situated behind center-field. There they will sit until the season ends. After that, they will be removed, cleaned up and offered at auction.

Comerica Park has a booming tiger growl whenever a Detroit Tiger homerun is made.

“Chevrolet is the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball and what better symbol can there be than having our vehicles in such a prominent place in our hometown stadium?” asked Paul Edwards, vice president, Chevrolet marketing.

“Last year, we were able to showcase our vehicles to more than 3 million Tigers’ fans at Comerica Park and even more watching from home,” Edwards said. “Maybe these great family vehicles can inspire a few more home runs to centerfield this year.”

No word on whether or not other vehicles were hit last year. Comerica Park had 153 home runs in 2013, second only to Angel Stadium (157) for the regular season. I wonder if you get a Chevy if you hit one?

Speaking of Chevrolet…
