(Chicago, Illinois) Nissan’s Fred Diaz posed a question at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show press conference.  Should Nissan build a Frontier midsize pickup truck powered by a Cummins turbo diesel engine to be sold in North America?

More specifically, this Frontier Diesel Runner has a 2.8-liter four cylinder Cummins capable of “nearly 200 horsepower and more than 350 lb-ft of torque” according to Nissan.   The company also predicts this powerful diesel will provide a 35% improvement in fuel economy over the current 4.0L gasoline V6.  It calculates to approximately 29 MPG on the highway in the 2WD model.

Please use this poll to let Nissan and us know – whether you would buy a Nissan Frontier with a small Cummins?  If you said “No”, please use the comment section to tell Nissan – why not.  We will forward the results and your comments to Nissan.
