This black 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD Dually LTZ model is the current top-dog heavy duty truck in Chevrolet’s arsenal.  The ultimate luxury High Country trim is not available until later this year.  This Crew Cab dually has it all, including air conditioned seats and a navigation system with integrated weather information.

Of course, there is also the new exterior and interior design.  The front facia and the tail-lights are new.  Who needs a mirror when you have this much chrome up front.  The doors now have an “inlaid” design to reduce interior noise.  All the design improvements make a big difference in the driving experience.  You can barely hear the big 6.6L Duramax V8 churning out 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque under the double-bulge hood.  And this truck cruises effortlessly and quietly at 75 mph on the interstate.  The only sound you hear is some wind noise coming off of the large towing mirrors.  In fact, this heavy duty truck feels like a crossover and you have to remind yourself that you are piloting a beast that weighs 8,500 lbs at the curb and is capable of moving 22,600 lbs of load.

When running empty, the suspension is a little bouncy and harsh.  This is the way it’s always been and characteristic of 3500 series pickups.  A relatively large turning radius is the only other reminder of the size of this long-bed crew cab.
