Check out this pair of 2019 Ram 1500 prototypes. One of the new trucks is sporting Ram’s traditional extending towing mirrors, and it is hitched up to a tandem-axle trailer with a Jeep Grand Cherokee on top. The two trucks are parked next to a gasoline pump (no diesel fuel being pumped here).

The Trailhawk version of the Grand Cherokee weighs just under 5,300 lbs before additional options.  The trailer itself weighs around 2,000 lbs. So this half-ton is testing with a sizable load that is approaching 7,500 lbs. The other prototype is showing a dual exhaust system, but there is no way to currently verify if the HEMI V8 is back under the hood.

The 2019 Ram 1500 is expected to make its world wide debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show (aka. NAIAS, Detroit Auto Show). We cannot wait see the truck in production trim and take it on a towing test.
