The 2018 Expedition 2WD XLT model starts at $51,695 before destination charges of $1,195. All Expeditions are equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine and the new 10-speed automatic transmission. However, the Platinum models gets a power boost (with 93 Octane fuel) to 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. This is a class-leading torque rating.

Many will want a 4×4 Expedition, and the four wheel drive system will set you back $2,990. There is a new Expedition FX4 off-road package. The FX4 model includes 18-inch wheel and all-terrain tires, skid plates, off-road shocks, a 2-speed transfer case, 3.73 rear differential gear ratio with eLSD. The FX4 package also requires a 202A package that pushes the price up to $63,525 when all is said and done. The FX4 package is also available on the long-wheelbase Expedition MAX.

Speaking of the Expedition MAX, this Chevy Suburban fighter can be optioned all the way up with every luxury and convenience feature you can imagine for a final manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) of $83,680. This is the Platinum model with 22-inch rims, heavy towing package, and rear-seat video entertainment system.

How does this compare to a fully loaded Suburban that comes with the 5.3L V8? The 2017 Suburban Premier can be configured with similar amenities at over $79,000 MSRP.
