Chevy Colorado Is Giving Toyota Tacoma a Run for the Money! July 2017 Sales Report

June 2017 – midsize truck sales report

Is Toyota Tacoma’s sales lead in the U.S. unsurmountable? If Chevy Colorado sales continue as they did in July 2017, then it’s possible for GM to challenge Toyota for midsize pickup supremacy over the next 12 months. 2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2 continues to bolster GM’s midsize truck sales.

There is no doubt that Toyota has a huge lead with the Tacoma. The truck still showed a 4.8% improvement over July of last year. Another truck that did very well in July was the Nissan Frontier. After all, the Frontier has the title of the most affordable new pickup truck.

Honda Ridgeline sales are not as strong as they were earlier this year, and the GMC Canyon is on track to sell more units than Honda.

Check out the sales graph put together by Bernie Kressner. Please take note of the Toyota Tacoma sales trajectory. It is still literally off this chart. Of course, this is just an approximation. It’s very difficult to predict what will actually happen.

One thing is for sure, competition is a lot tougher now, than it was just a year or two ago.
