This year, for the 143rd Kentucky Derby at the Churchill Downs, Ram will give away a 2017 Ram 2500 HD Limited pickup truck to the trainer of the winning thoroughbred. The prize truck is based on a fully-optioned Limited crew cab 4×4 model with the 6.7L Cummins I6 turbo-diesel engine. The truck is painted in Brilliant Black and has unique 143rd Kentucky Derby logos on the rear bedsides, and a hand-painted Kentucky Derby rose badge in the grille.

This unique trucks has a black on black on chrome theme that works well together. The winner will be able to enjoy the 370 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque in this 2500 HD truck and tow a horse trailer that weighs up to 17,200 lbs, according to a Ram towing chart for a crew cab, short bed, 4×4, with a diesel and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Ram 2500 HD is not available with a high-output version of the Cummins engine and the 6-speed Aisin transmission.
