We took a 2017 Chevy Suburban Z71 Midnight edition and pitted it against the Ram 1500 Mopar HEMI Night package. Why? It’s based on an argument that Roman and Nathan had about which truck had the badass feel in Detroit. We are using both trucks to cover the 2017 NAIAS. Fortunately, we had just enough time to rationalize which one was best.

Mashing up a 2017 Chevy Suburban Z71 Midnight edition and pitted it against the Ram 1500 Mopar HEMI Night package is (definitely) apples to oranges, but this is more about attitude and feel over the utility. Upon receiving these trucks, it only took a few seconds before Roman and Nathan wrestled for the keys.

Both trucks have their merits and both are packed with the newest tech goodies. It should be noted that both trucks are awesome in freezing Michigan as they have heated seats (the second row of the Suburban was heated too) and both have heated steering wheels. Yes, we were coddled. If nothing else, we established that, on the streets of Detroit, driving a beefy truck was way better than bouncing around in a flimsy sedan.
