Who sells the most pickup trucks in America? This report is focused on the full-size pickup trucks. There are sales gains across the board for the month of November 2016 and year-to-date (YTD). Well, there are two exceptions with the Chevy Silverado and Toyota Tundra YTD sales declines.
The new 2017 Nissan Titan is now on sale and it’s picking up some steam. It still has a long way to go to catch the rest, but it’s now selling about the same number of trucks per month as GMC Canyon or Honda Pilot (around 3,400 trucks per month).
November was a very good month for the GMC Sierra lineup with a 14.4% improvement over previous year. Ram trucks are still showing significant sales improvements, but Chevrolet struggled a bit. Chevy had a small improvement for the month, but a -3.2% decline YTD.
Ford F-Series is still in the lead with a healthy 10.6% monthly gain and 5.5% improvement YTD. Ford F-Series has sold 733,287 pickups so far this year. GM sold 718,994 Silverados and Sierras together. The margin is thin between the two and anything can happen in the month before end of the year.
