The 2017 Ford Raptor has not yet reached the dealerships, but guys at Hennessey Performance (HPE) in Sealy, TX are already hard at work taking the new Raptor above and beyond. We have not driven the new Ford Raptor yet, but if there is a way to make an off-road truck better, then add traction and add power. This is precisely the idea behind the Hennessey Velociraptor 6×6 concept.

The concept starts with a 2017 Ford Raptor crew cab truck. HPE adds a second rear axle which is able to be locked for ultimate 6×6 traction.  The truck gets a suspension update as well as 20-inch wheels with off-road tires. Naturally, the 6×6 also gets custom bumpers and additional LED lights. HPE is well known for boosting power on various vehicles: Ford Mustang, Cadillac CTS-V, Dodge Challenger Hellcat, GMC Yukon, and many more. The company also builds the 270.4 MPH Venom GT supercar.

When it comes to power for the new Velociraptor. HPE takes Ford’s high output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 from its stock output of 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque to above 600 horsepower. The company has not specified the precise power output at this time. The 6×6 concept package will include the 600+ hp twin-turbo powerplant.

HPE says the Velociraptor 6×6 will start at $295,000. This will be out of reach for the vast majority of consumers, but if you desire more power from your 2017 Raptor, the 600+ hp upgrade can be purchased separately at $22,500.

Hennessey Performance is not new to tuning Ford trucks. The company sold over 800 Velociraptors based on the first generation of the Ford Raptor. HPE is celebrating 25 years of high horsepower fun with the an anniversary edition F-150 Velociraptor 700 Supercharged.
