Star Thief: 2017 Ram 1500 Lone Star Silver Edition robbed of Emblems at the Fair

fullsizerender-8The 2017 Ram 1500 Lone Star Silver Edition debuted at the 2016 State Fair of Texas loaded with chrome, big badges and stars – lots of stars. That is, until a thief relieved the 2017 Ram 1500 Lone Star Silver Edition static display model of its stars. That’s right folks, someone ripped off both badges from the “Wave Mesh” grill.

The two images of the Ram truck you see here were taken right after the unveiling last week.

According to a source close to the case, these badges “were pilfered while at the auto show.

No witnesses have stepped forward to assist, nor has anything been said at the Ford, General Motors, Nissan or Toyota camps. All of these truck-makers have a presence (and have, or are producing something special for the state of Texas). The competition for Texan adoration is fierce.

Further complicating the issue is the cornucopia of attention aimed at Ram’s other offering at the 2016 State Fair of Texas – the Ram Rebel TRX Concept. A 575 horsepower beast of an off-road truck that has ignited the internet. While it’s a one-off concept, it’s entirely possible that an overzealous fan may take aim at a souvenir too.
