The 2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 All-Terrain X makes its debut today. It completes a trifecta of off-road ready trucks from GMC, along with the GMC Canyon All-Terrain X and GMC Sierra 1500 All-Terrain X.
The Sierra HD version of the limited edition All-Terrain X is only available on the 2500 series (3/4 ton) trucks in a crew cab 4×4 configuration. Customers will have an option to choose between the 6.0L gasoline V8 or the all-new L5P 6.6L Duramax V8. The 6.0L gasoline V8 remains as the base engine across the GMC HD and Chevrolet HD trucks. While GM completely overhauled the Duramax V8 to the tune of 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque. The 6.0L V8 workhorse remains at 360 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque.

The All-Terrain X package starts with the Z71 off-road tuned suspension, underbody protection, and an Eaton automatically locking rear differential. The package comes in two colors: Onyx Black you see in these images or Summit White.
These Sierra HDs ride on 18-inch black painted aluminum wheels and Goodyear Duratrac MT tires. Unique exterior touches include a body-color grille, door handles, side moldings, and towing mirrors. Down below are the 4-inch black side steps and a bed-mounted black sport bar that is meant to carry accessories, such as LED lights.

The All-Terrain X also features GMC IntelliLink with an 8-inch-diagonal color touchscreen, Teen Driver, remote-locking tailgate, remote starting system, Rear Vision Camera, adjustable pedals, leather-appointed seats, heated front seats and wireless charging.
