Monster Trucks the Movie Is All About Fun

monster trucks movie Lucas
Originally slated for a 2015 release, Monster Trucks the motion picture will hit theaters in January of 2017. Yes, it’s a motion picture and – yes – its about Monster Trucks. It’s about monsters living in trucks, replacing the running gear with their monster muscles. Yep, it’s a real movie that combines elements of E.T., Free Willy, Tremors and Transformers.

Only in Hollywood.

Monster trucks 3
Here’s the odd part. Despite a goofy premise and an obvious Ram Trucks connection (every vehicle has an obligatory FCA connection) it looks like something little ones would dig. I may even bring my “Mini-me” to a showing. The special effects look pretty impressive, and any movie with Danny Glover I am required to see by state law.

Here’s Paramount’s log-line: “Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town and a most unlikely friend.
