This camouflaged small minivan is difficult to identify at first, but a second and third look suggest this is a version of the Japanese Nissan Serena van. However, these prototypes were caught in Colorado. Could Nissan be working on the next generation of the NV200 or Question vans? We do not have an official word from Nissan on this yet.

The current NV200 van is meant for commercial duty and comes in a cargo van or taxi configurations. However, many competitors in this space, such as the Ford Transit Connect and the Ram ProMaster City, offer passenger van versions.

Updating the Nissan NV200 van to offer more configuration options and a three-row passenger version would surely be a good thing.

These prototypes look like the existing Nissan Serena van that is currently sold in Japan. The Serena comes in many trim levels, including luxurious versions. The Serena is powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline four-cylinder engine.

Although, this type of van can be a successful replacement for the existing NV200 in the United States, it appears too unorthodox to replace the Nissan Quest minivan.
