2016 Nissan Navara with GT-R Engine by Severn Valley Motorsport

Zoom in on the engine bay and tell us what you see. That’s right, it’s a GT-R engine that was oiled up and slid ever so gently into its new home, the Nissan pickup known in other markets as the Navara. The engine swap was no high school autoshop class project, but rather the work of Shropshire-based GT-R specialists, Severn Valley Motorsport (SVR). The 800-horsepower 3.8L twin turbo V6 seen here replaces the Navara’s 2.3L twin turbo diesel that puts out a puny-by-comparison 190 horses.

While this is not something SVM plans to sell, one just like it can be yours for a mere £200,000 – or about $285,000 at current exchange rates. The vehicle instead acts as a rolling business card to demonstrate what the company is capable of. They have also been known to shoehorn GT-R engines in to a Juke and a Qashqai, which is similar to Rogue, but smaller. Estimates put 0-60 mph times at three seconds or below. If that’s too much or not enough for you, SVM can perform Navara engine swaps resulting in 550 hp all the way up to 1,500 hp. Luke Anthony of SVM is reported to have told Top Gear, “Anything is possible, we are open to the craziest of ideas.” Does this mean we will see this truck on an upcoming episode of Top Gear?
