The Fast Lane Truck always strives to give you fast and accurate information regarding all things truck, unfortunately, we sometimes get it wrong.
We recently published a story (which has since been removed from our site) questioning the value of a special Costco edition Silverado sold through the Costco Auto Program. In the article, we used an image from the Costco Auto Program’s website showing the prices of the 2WD and 4WD trucks. We configured a similarly equipped truck on Chevrolet’s website and were surprised when the Costco deal didn’t seem like much of a deal at all. We also placed a general inquiry about the “deal” though the Costco program’s website but did not get any response.
The price shown on the Costco Auto Program’s site is actually the full MSRP for the truck from Chevrolet, not the discounted GM Supplier price that Costco members will pay. During a phone conversation, executives from the Costco Auto Program would not give an exact price or discount amount, but they described the special pricing as “very aggressive.” It is also important to note that in additional to a discounted price, cash allowance, and the $1,000 Costco cash card that’s available to eligible members, members will also be eligible for all factory incentives and rebates normally available to the general public. The Costco edition Chevy Silverado is limited to 5,000 trucks with factory orders being accepted until May 31, 2016.
Here is a fun comparison between the 2016 Chevy Silverado 5.3L V8 and the 2016 GMC Sierra 6.2L V8. Which V8 is better? Find out in the video below.
