5. 2016 Nissan Titan XD

We were fortunate to test the 2016 Titan XD with the 5.0L Cummins V8 on the Ike Gauntlet extreme towing test, our highway mpg loop, and off-road. However, the redesigned 5.6L gasoline V8 is just around the corner. The new addition will make 390 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. Nissan recently announced that a light-duty version of the new Titan is also coming soon. The 2017 Nissan Titan will be offered with either the 5.6L V8 or the V6 gasoline engine. Stay tuned for further information on this very soon.

4. 2016 Toyota Tacoma

The 2016 Tacoma continues its sales success. The TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road versions will be joined by the 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro. This most off-road focused model will offer a slight lift, a beefier off-road tuned suspension, under-body protection, and Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires.

3. 2016 Chevy Colorado Duramax

The Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups aim to grab more market share with the addition of the 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine. This four-cylinder produces 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2016 Canyon Duramax won TFLtruck’s 2016 Gold Hitch Truck of the Year award after impressing us on the Ike Gauntlet and the highway mpg loop.

2. 2017 Ram Power Wagon

The Power Wagon get a refresh for the 2017 model year. Many of the visual elements are new. There is the Rebel-styled front grill, new side stripes, the big “RAM” on the tailgate, new wheel design, and power-coated bumpers. The interior also see many updates that include an option for leather seats, black headliner, and more.

This heavy duty truck is all-new. The next generation Super Duty has a stiffer frame, updated engines and transmissions, aluminum body, and whole truck-load of comfort and safety features. The 2017 F-450 on display in Denver has massaging front seats, panoramic sunroof, retractable steps, blind-spot monitoring, and more. It also has a promise of even more payload the towing capability. This truck is pushing the segment further and we cannot wait to put all the claims to the test.
