The first sales numbers of the new year are in and if you been following sales numbers for any length of time, it should come as no surprise that the Ford F-Series tops the list of full-size trucks. If you add the figures for the Silverado and Sierra, however, you’ll find that the twin trucks actually eked out a win over the F-Series with a combined total of 52,244 units sold last month. With gas prices currently at bargain basement prices, most manufacturers were able to top their sales volume numbers from January 2015, with only Ford and Toyota seeing decreases between same month figures year to year. Once again, the Tacoma reigns supreme in the sales world. There are likely a couple of reasons for this. First, the 2016 Tacoma is either all-new or a major redesign with 42 more horsepower and a 6th gear. However you look at it, the truck still has major trail-cred when properly equipped. Second, how many people are waiting for test results the Duramax diesel variants of the Colorado/Canyon siblings before deciding on a midsize truck? BTW, we have one and will be testing it soon! Until then, check out the recent Gold Mine Hill test with the TRD Off-Road below.
