Watch 4 Year-Old Sophie Drive a Volvo Truck [Video]

volvo fmx live testSophie has got to be the luckiest 4 year-old ever.

For a PR stunt, Volvo rigged their newest FMX truck into an RC racer and handed the controls over to a bright young mind who is more than a decade away from scoring her driver’s license.

“I’m gonna walk up. Then I stood there and get to drive it left and right, back and forth.”

The remote control used by Sophie was specially made for this film. Highly sensitive, the compact RC unit provided access to steering, accelerator, gearshift and brakes, according to Volvo.

Controlling the FMX from afar, Sophie drove the heavy duty truck in a gravel pit filled with moving obstacles, pyrotechnics, steep terrain, and buildings that couldn’t withstand Sophie’s eagerness for destruction.

The Volvo FMX is specially designed for heavy duty construction service and has been outfitted with a new automatic traction control system. The burly Swede can pull heavy loads with ease, scoff at poor terrain and steep gradients, and even shake off a rollover as seen in the video. But is it tough enough to survive being driven by a 4 year-old?

The final result is a pretty spectacular video, as you can see below.

Not quite as exciting is this episode of TFLtruck Talk where Roman and MrTruck.com discuss the most significant and coolest trucks of the year.
