The 2015 Ram Rebel wins the best off-road ride of the 2015 Rocky Mountain Driving Experience (#RMDE) that took place Sep 16th/17th, 2015. RMDE is the annual signature event that is organized by the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press (RMAP) association. RMAP represents automotive journalists of the Rocky Mountain region and includes: Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Arizona, and New Mexico.
The RMDE driving experience is designed by RMAP to bring together the journalists of the Rocky Mountain region and beyond to drive the latest vehicles on the beautiful mountain highways and off-road trails of Colorado.
The Ram Rebel was competing against many pickup trucks, SUVs, and crossovers for the most competent off-road ride. Also in the running were: 2015 Chevy Colorado Z71 Trail Boss, 2016 Toyota Tacoma, 2015 Ford F-150 FX4, 2015 GMC Sierra HD, 2015 GMC Canyon All Terrain, 2016 Range Rover Evoque, 2015 Nissan Murano, 2016 Volvo XC90, 2016 VW Touareg, 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, and the 2016 Honda Pilot.
The participating journalists voted via anonymous ballots and the Ram Rebel came out of top. The Rebel differentiates itself from the rest of the Ram 1500 lineup with an air suspension that allows for an additional inch of ground clearance. It has specially tuned shocks, front skid plate, and off-road ready Toyo Open Country all-terrain tires.
