The 2015 Ford Ranger is currently available for purchase here in Mexico. The body style is the regular cab or the 4-door “double cab” – both with the five foot bed. It is available in four model variations. The XL Gasolina, XLT Gasolina, XL Diesel and the Limited. The seven color choices are Azul Estelar, Gris Militar, Plata Ostion, Rojo Manzna, Blanco Oxford, Plata Metalico and Negro Aperlado. The two engine choices are the Duratec 2.5L IVET I4 and the Puma 2.2L TDCI I4.

The engine specs are as follows:

Engine: 2.5L Duratec IVET I4 Gas

  • 2488.5 cc, 9.7:1 Compression ratio,
  • Power: 164 hp @5500 rpm
  • Torque: 167 lb-ft @ 4500 rpm
  • Transmission: 5-speed manual

Engine: Puma 2.2L Duratorq TDCi I4 Diesel

  • 2198 cc, 15.5:1 Compression ratio,
  • Power: 125 hp @ 3700 rpm
  • Torque: 243 lb-ft @ 1750-2300 rpm
  • Transmission: 6-speed manual
  • Drivetrain layout: only available in 2 wheel drive
  • Suspension: independent front w/stabilizer and solid axle rear
  • A bed liner is included on all models
  • Fuel tank capacity: 80 liters
  • Towing capacity: 1700 kg gas | 1600 kg diesel
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR): 3200 kg
  • Cargo capacity: 1420, 1342 and 1255 kg respectively
  • Pricing ranges from $278,000 to $378,000 pesos (the current exchange rate is 16.8/1)

Test drives are very difficult to get here so I cannot give you any driving impressions. Attached you will find the photo’s I took at the dealer this morning.
