Ford is moving along with the 2017 Ford Raptor testing regimen. This time it’s off to a muddy forest trail to see how the new transfer case and other components handle mud, articulation, and tight turns. Ford presents the highlights of the testing in this short video clip.

The upgraded suspension includes 3.0-inch diameter FOX Racing shocks with customized internal bypass technology. Running in the desert at high speeds is one thing, but can it handle slow articulation?

This prototype is the big SuperCrew model. The width and size of the previous Raptor make it a handful to drive on a tight and narrow trail. It does not have a great turning radius. It prefers to run in the wide-open spaces. The next generation Raptor is not any smaller, but it’s able to navigate the trail in this video. Can Ford improve the turning radius on the new truck?

Ford also says that the new transfer case strikes a balance between the clutch-driven all-wheel-drive system and mechanical locking 4×4.

Here is the clip provided by Ford of the truck off-roading in Northern Michigan.
