TFLtruck has received many questions about the future of the Ford Super Duty. There is information that the Ford Truck plant in Louisville, Kentucky is currently closed for updates and that customers cannot custom order a 2015 Ford Super Duty.
TFLtruck reached out to Ford and this is the information that we received.
“2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty production starts later this year [calendar 2015]. It includes minor updates, such as available factory strobe lights. While we are no longer accepting orders for 2015 model year Super Duty, the customer can place an order today for a 2016.”
Ford would not speculate about anything beyond the 2016 model year trucks. The summary is that the 2016 Super Duty will be much unchanged from the current 2015 model, and it will receive very minor updates and additional options.
Although Ford is not ready to say what will be in store for the 2017 model year and beyond – TFLtruck has spied on many camouflaged Super Duty prototypes undergoing high altitude testing with and without trailers.
The next generation of Super Duty trucks will use aluminum body construction, and may have even larger “mega cab” configuration.
