The 2015 Ford F-150 earns a five-star crash safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), using their new “Car Assessment Program”. This is the highest rating the NHTSA can give.

The crash testing includes a frontal barrier crash (see image above) and the F-150 received top marks for both the driver and front passenger safety.

The truck also went through NHTSA side-barrier and side-pole impact tests. Results showed low risk of serious injury to the driver or front- and rear-seat passengers in side impact situations.

Ford notes that design of the high-strength steel frame and the aluminum body accommodated for safety from the beginning. The F-150 also uses inflatable rear-seat safety belts in the crew cab models.
