The 2015 Ford F-150 first-drive event is starting this weekend, and Ford is getting ever closer to dealership deliveries by posting the online configurator for the newest truck. You can now go to Ford’s website to build the F-150 to your liking. It may take a while as there are thousand of permutations before you even get to the exterior and interior options.
The base regular cab F-150 XL has an MSRP of $25,420 and comes with the 3.5L naturally aspirated V6, a 6-speed automatic transmission, and 2WD. You can actually add the 2.7L EcoBoost V6, 4×4, and make it a crew cab for $36,240.
Note that the King Ranch and Platinum models are not offered with the 2.7L EcoBoost V6. You will have to step up to the 5.0L V8 or the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 for the higher end models.
If you require the ultimate luxury pickup truck, then you can start with the Platinum model and continue to add features until the final price hits $62,100. This includes all the luxury sedan features, such as: adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, LED headlights, panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, maximum towing package, remote controlled tailgate, and on and on. The options list goes on for pages.
For comparison, the 2014 Ford F-150 Limited with all the options comes in at $55,330. Such is the price of progress. Most of the horsepower, maximum towing, and fuel economy numbers are still not announced. We will learn this in a few days. However, you can now option your F-150 with so many luxury options, you might think you are in a high-end German sedan. There is no compromise. If you want to have a luxury sedan, but also tow near or over 12,000 lbs. Then, a fully loaded F-150 is for you.
