Rolling Coal Will be a big No-No soon

deanhaydenclose
It’s already happening and, before long, every state will make Rolling Coal (the process in which a diesel pick-em-up truck’s exhaust system is modified to spew black smoke) illegal. New Jersey Bill A3583 which “Prohibits retrofitting diesel-powered vehicles to increase particulate emissions for the purpose of ‘coal rolling’; prohibits the practice of ‘Coal Rolling’ (Rolling Coal)” has been submitted by New Jersey State Assemblyman Tim Eustace.

It’s already an EPA “no-no” to modify any system that increases carbon, carbon particulates, green-house gasses etc. You cannot take a regulated system that was installed to ease pollution away. Now, with the passing of this bill, state troopers will be (happily) looking for folks Rolling Coal. Yes, I did say that this bill will pass – because it, or a similar bill will pass. Once it starts, it will spread to several states rapidly.

You should be able to still belch smoke at the racetrack

Personally, why not simply unroll your window and urinate on the person next to you? It’s cheaper, cleaner, bio-degradable and it won’t obscure the vision of those next to you – unless you nail them in the face. Better still, if you want to make an impression like Rolling Coal, urinate on yourself. Now THAT takes balls.

Rolling Coal was funny for ten minutes. I got nailed by a meat-head in an older Ram last year while I was testing a Ford C-MAX Hybrid. I would have shrugged it off – but I had my kids in the car and it was in a turn lane in fast moving traffic. Obscuring another driver’s vision is totally unforgivable and that’s my beef with these guys.

‘Taint funny no more son. Soon, you will have to pay steep fines, (possibly) get your rig impounded and un-mickey-mouse the exhaust system you mickey-moused.

Just takes a few meat-heads to ruin it for everyone else.
