Happy Independence Day with Red, White, and Blue [Photo of the Day]

2014 fiesta st ford f-150 svt raptor

The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST could not be more opposite to the SVT Raptor.  Still, the color composition of this photograph celebrates the United States Independence day.

Fiesta ST is the smallest performance car in Ford’s arsenal.  Its 1.6-liter direct injected and turbocharged four is capable of 197 horsepower and 202 lb-ft of torque.  It weighs just 2,720 pounds, comes only with a 6-speed manual, and is a ton of fun on the street and on the racetrack.

Ford Raptor occupies the opposite side of the spectrum, but it is full of fun as well.  The nearly extinct 6.2-liter V8 churns out 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque.  This motor will no longer be available when the next generation 2015 F-150 goes on sale.  The crew-cab beast weighs in at 6,203 pounds, and feels at home on the open road or in challenging off-road terrain.

No matter how different these two vehicles are, they both put huge smiles on the faces of the occupants and let you run free.  And this is what Independence Day is all about.

The Raptor has enough approach angle to drive up an over the low-slung hood of the Fiesta.

Here is another clash of red and blue trucks, featuring the “Dirt to Date” 2014 GMC Sierra customized pickup.
