Toyota put on a huge off-road indoor park at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show to showcase the latest in factory off-road performance tuning.  Toyota calls it TRD Pro series, and TFLtruck went for a ride in the 2015 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.

This package will be available on the Tundra, Tacoma, and the 4Runner.  There are no engine or transmission updates, most of the changes apply to the suspension, underbody proaction, wheels, and tires.  The Tundra sits two inches higher and rides on slightly softer springs and specially tuned Bilstein off-road shocks with remote reservoirs.  This provides for smoother and more consistent suspension performance on very rough surfaces.

These trucks also get beefy under-armor, unique rims, aggressive tires, new inferno-red paint, TRD pro stampings and badging on the outside and the inside.

Join Nathan Adlen for a ride in the 2015 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.  And catch the sweet sound from the new dual exhaust system for the 5.7L iForce V8.

    1. “off-road” course in climate controlled McCormick Place…..embarrassing. Toyota, how about a video of the truck on real off-road trail. That would be more informative.

      1. Well… Jeep did the same thing. This is an auto show. It’s just for demo purposes. Not much else one can do inside a convention center. The real tests will come via sites like this and of course buyers.

    2. Looks like Toyota have made the TACO even uglier with the new grill and horizontal hood slit. The new Colorado is looking better every day!!!!

    3. I think these models look great. One of these Tundras with the TRD supercharger would be an unbelievable combo!

    4. I would never buy and y Japan sourced vehicle, this one for sure, it is just plain ugly. The Japanese have seen fit to continue whaling even though most of the civilized world has banned it. They are also planning to increase their nuclear power generation. The radiation is still spilling out of their last mess and they are looking to increase the risk of another meltdown. NOT TO SMART.
