The XP Camper looks like the real deal for serious overland campers

xp camper 3
The XP Camper smacks of rugged capability mixed in with high-tech materials and low weight: the perfect ingredients for a proper overland vehicle. Overland vehicles are built to take you, your cargo and living quarters to locations difficult to access. Based in Grass Valley, CA, XP Camper (XPCamper, LLC) builds pop-up overland motorhomes out of extremely lightweight, yet strong materials.

They use carbon-fiber, aluminum and foam – among other materials – for construction.

“XPCamper is an expanding, exploration pop-up camper designed for the overland adventurer.A flatbed replaces the standard truck bed giving you additional storage space and makes installation and removal of the camper quick and easy. The XP shell is a fiberglass and carbon composite, seamless, monocoque (frameless), pop-up design that creates less drag while driving. With the touch of a button, the roof raises to full standing height.

Convenient, compact and easy to drive, the XPCamper takes truck campers to the next level. Whether you’re going on an expedition across continent or to the local state park, you’ll travel in comfort and style and be confident you’ll be camping worry free.” XP Camper

The total price on a sample XP Camper V1 is $74,825.00. There is no mention of what type of rig is required, although all the photos show a Ram. XP Camper is a custom company that works with the buyer and their preferences. According to XP Camper: it takes 3 – 5 months for a full build.

Daddy like.

Looks like a simple, lightweight alternative to some of those overwrought overland combos out there.
